What is nearsightedness or myopia?
Nearsightedness causes distant objects to appear out of focus while closer objects still appear clearly.
What is farsightedness or hyperopia?
When distant objects appear clearly, but close-up objects appear blurry, you may have hyperopia or farsightedness.
What is presbyopia?
Presbyopia occurs naturally with age. Starting around the age of 40, many people start to notice an inability to focus up close. Even nearsighted people will detect blurred vision when wearing their usual eyeglasses or contact lenses.

What is astigmatism?
Astigmatism is a common vision problem that can easily be corrected. It occurs when the cornea becomes shaped like a football, as opposed to spherical, like a basketball. This can cause images to blur, or stretch out.

Each of the problems listed above are the result of what is called a refractive error. These are optical imperfections that prevent the eye from properly focusing light, causing blurred vision.
Depending on the imperfection, they can affect your vision differently–resulting in nearsightedness, farsightedness, presbyopia or astigmatism. All of which can be corrected with contact lenses.
